Burna Boy New Album ‘Twice As Tall’ Is Executive-Produced by Diddy

Come August 13, the Nigerian superstar will be releasing his new album titled Twice As Tall, a full-length project executive-produced by American rap mogul and renowned producer Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. In an interview with The New York Times veteran music critic John Pareles, the Afro-fusion artist said the album is a continuation of the mission he started which is “building a bridge that leads every Black person in the world to come together, and to make you understand that without you having a home base, you can’t be as strong as you are.”

“I’ve never picked up a pen and paper and written down a song in my life,” he said. “It all just comes, like someone is standing there and telling me what to say. It’s all according to the spirits. Some of us are put on this earth to do what we do.” He said during the interview.

The new album is a 15-track project that was recorded mostly during the pandemic with Diddy roping in drums from gifted singer Anderson .Paak and additional productions from the legendary Timbaland. Diddy who describes the album as “a modern but pure, unapologetic African body of work” did voice-over intros on some tracks on the album which he said, according to the article, was 80% done when he was brought in to contribute.

The Nigerian singer, who describes himself as the child of the universe is winning the hearts of music fans across the globe as his music gains acceptance throughout the world, positioning his as one of the best African music artist to ever do it.

Kenyan band Sauti Sol, reputable Senegalese singer Youssou N’Dour, Chris Martin (ColdPlay) and American hip hop group Naughty by Nature are among some of the features enlisted in the production of the upcoming album from the musical giant

Twice As Tall follows the successful African Giant, which was released in 2019 and is expected to be one of his best work yet. Well, its only right to make such an assumption since the giant will be twice as tall. In an interview with RollingStone magazine, the Nigerian singer said that growth remains constant in his career, “It’s not an up and down thing. I climbed every step. I don’t skip steps- I’m too heavy to skip steps,” he posed.
