This would be the Chinese consumer electronics company’s second factory in Africa and is scheduled for opening by 2021. The new factory expected to employ more than 200 people will be located in Atlantis, Cape Town.
MyBroadband reports that the company which recently launched a smartphone assembly production in the Atlantis plant says they have achieved a market share of 12% since launching washing machines in South Africa three years ago.
The company’s other plant manufacturers flat-screen TVs and fridges, also located in Atlantis, Cape Town, was opened in August 2013.
