Jazz act Bob James to perform at Ghana’s Stanbic Jazz Festival

It is yet another season of great jazz music and Accra will play host to Grammy award winning jazz star Bob James at this year’s Stanbic Jazz Festival set to be held in Ghana’s capital.

The event slated for June 26 to 27 is expected to be better than the 2015 event which featured yet another jazz icon Earl Klugh who performed alongside Ebo Taylor, Aka Blay, Kyekyeku and Bernard Ayisa among others.

This year’s edition which was scheduled for February was reportedly moved to allow for talks between the organizers and the headlining act. Details of other performers in the 2016 edition are yet to be made public.

Bob James, a jazz keyboardist, arranger and producer., is renowned for albums such as Double Vision and the One on One which earned him a Grammy award in 1981 under the Best Pop Instrumental Performance a category that has since been scrapped.

The first edition of the Stanbic Jazz Festival event was held in 2014 and was headlined by Peter White.
