After the release of the zestful ‘Toa Kitu,’ Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has followed it up with a new single titled ‘Lwanda Magere Legacy 1.’
The rapper brings heat over a west-coast vibe beat recreated by Vinc, while putting the rap game into perspective and how it has turned out. He aptly says that the industry has turned into a joke where skills take a back seat while lame rappers get recognition.
Khaligraph Jones says, ‘there is no international market for African artists’ and that top western record labels disregard African rappers, and that would inform why an African rapper would not blow up in a place like the US. The rapper further says that it’s all by design that one is promised all the success and ends up selling their soul all for nothing. He then ends by demanding respect while on his quest for legendary status.
Visuals directed by Jijo Drumbeats accompany the song.
