The Lisbon based R&B/Indie Pop singer has announced the release of her new single dubbed ‘R U Listening’. The song is a laid back, Lo-fi, groovy and melancholic piece of music riding on impressive productions by Jean Lambert and mixed by Mayboi.
The song bears an experimental vibe, artistic rawness and muffled dreamy atmospheric soundscapes as her unsullied vocals leave the melodies lingering in memory.
“The song is based on one of my previous experiences (most of them are) and its about realizing that you need and deserve better in your love life; and that sometimes wanting to break the circle doesn’t look like a gloomy thing It can come as a natural process” Deadflyingthings hinted to Afroway. “The concept of it can be applied to all types of relationships. Its mainly about self growth and development”. She adds.
‘R U Listening’ follows the release of ‘Come‘ and ‘Lost At Sea‘ which came out about month ago.
Deadflyingthings’s born Evandera Quintas, writes, sings and records from her bedroom. With a sound that emulates influences from some of pop’s biggest names like James Blake, Jorja Smith or SZA. The 22-yr-old manages to navigate dark and melancholy lyrics with a soothing and calming voice, that guides you quietly through the up’s and down’s of a regular 20-something figuring out life.
