The album is sure to cause earworms to listeners. The project features a vibrant collection of beats, a fusion of African genres settled on impressive pop delivery.
This is the band’s fifth full album, the project paints a picture of Kenyan experiences, humorous anecdotes, and overawe urban African music vibe. ‘Midnight Train’ is a jubilant expression of life, tribulations, being young, goofy, daring, love-tenderness, and, most of all, being African.
Sauti Sol, the first Kenyan act signed to Universal Music Africa, is at its best, listening to the album, one finds themselves on familiar grounds and is characterized by unique harmonies, relatable sounds, the anthemic Afro-vibes, storytelling, rhythmic guitar strums and a glimpse of how much the group has transformed since their full debut project. ‘Midnight Train’ sits up there, a Kenyan classic pop album of the year.
The new project features a host of massively talented artists: India Arie, Mortimer, Sho Madjozi, Black Motion, Bensoul, Xeniah Manasseh, and Nairobi Horns Project, Soweto Gospel Choir, Kaskazini, and Nviir.
Sauti Sol shared four songs ‘Suzzana,’ ‘Insecure,’ ‘Brighter Days,’ and ‘Disco Matanga,’ all of which hinted at how successful the entire project will be.
