The Nigerian singer, producer, and one of Alté scene powerhouse has finally put out her new song after hyping it up on social media.
The smooth track leans on wavy instrumentals, traditional r&b/soul structure, and hip-hop undertones that ride on electronic nuances, great productions by Amaarae and Rvdical The Kid, and Tems unmatched vocals plead, as she fights for that unconditional love. A lover who will have her back until the grave.
“And these days, these days are made of the pain/these nights are not for the stars, and you remain in my way. Tell me what you think about; tell me that you feel the game/you’ll be with me till the grave.” The chorus goes. Tems describes the song as ‘A reflection of our times’, well, how about that love in these ‘pandemic’ times?
The artist is at the forefront in promoting the movement currently shaping alternative music in Nigeria with her music, which has seen her issue some well-crafted releases including ‘Try Me’ and ‘Mr. Rebel’
