Well Deserved! South African Black Coffee wins major BET Award

The house music figure head is the first South African to win Best International Act Africa category award.

DJ Black Coffee beat the likes of fellow South African and currently high ranking artist in that nation AKA, Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Cote D’Ivoire Coupé Decalé star Serge Beynaud, Ghana’s queen Mzvee and Nigeria’s Wizkid and Yemi Alade.

The DJ expressed his joy and thanked his fans for being supportive. 

The multi-award winning producer and Dj was born Nkosinathi Maphumulo and began his music career aroun 1995. He has five albums to his name and is one of the most prominent electronic music producers in Africa. His latest album Pieces Of Me was released a few weeks after he won “Breakthrough DJ Of The Year” award at the DJ Awards in Ibiza.

The 2016 BET Awards took place at Microsoft Theatre, Los Angeles, California, on Sunday 26 June.
