The long wait seems to have come to an end after the company launched its own WhatsApp Business app, now available on Android for free.
The application which targets small businesses seeks to improve business experience by making it easier for businesses to respond to customers.
Businesses can create their profiles with a little description, address and contact information and ensure quick replies, one can also create greeting messages, on the application that comes with simple analytics.
General WhatsApp users will have control of what they receive from businesses by block numbers and reporting spam activities at the same time businesses will only communicate with people who provide numbers to them.
The new application will be available for free in the meantime, but the company plans to introduce charges with the inclusion of additional capabilities in the future, no specific date was however given for the worldwide roll-out. The business app is part of the company’s wider plans to generate revenue as it boasts of 1.3 billion users.
The app is already available on Google Play Store in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, UK and the US, and will be rolled out for the rest of the world in the near future.
