Zuchu Releases Video For ‘Kwaru’ + A Peek Into Her Recently Released EP

Tanzanian songstress Zuchu has unveiled visuals for ‘Kwaru’ a single off her recently released self-titled EP. All we’d say here at Afroway would be Marhaba…!

The single produced by Lizer Classic, celebrated Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz’s long-term music genius, reveals the young artist’s creative writing skills, packaged in imposing Swahili poetry and Taarab artistry highlighted by her fine vocals. Kenny From Zoom Extra puts together colorful visuals depicting a strained relationship and couples clutching onto broken pieces.

Zuchu’s 7-track EP leans more towards simple yet glamorous poetry, narrations, modern pop influences, East African coastal Taarab sounds, breezing through various favored experimental sounds. The EP introduces the singer as a formidable artist making her name known to the world with a simple yet familiar take and relatable experiences . Notable songs on the EP include; ‘Ashua’, ‘Raha’, ‘Nisamahe’, ‘Mauzauza’ among others

The artist has worked with the likes if Mbosso, the gracious legend Khadija Kopa who is reportedly the singer’s mother on her EP. Zuchu is Tanzania’s top label WCB Wasafi’s new signee and was unveiled by the record labels CEO Diamond Platnumz just a few days ago.

Check out the singer’s new ‘Kwaru’ video succeeding ‘Wana’ which premiered on April 8.
